We’re so excited to introduce the newest little members of the Harley & Co family! Serenity and James Dean welcomed six beautiful puppies on Monday — five gorgeous boys and one very special little girl.
Meet Bowie, Freddie, Stevie, Billy, Prince and, of course, Princess Donut. 🍩💕
This gorgeous little crew are expected to be toy-sized, with a beautiful mix of fleece and shaggy coats. They are already thriving under the watchful eye of their mum, Serenity, who has settled straight back into motherhood and is, as always, the most wonderfully doting and attentive mum.
Although their world is still very small at this age — mostly consisting of Mum, milk, warmth and sleep — their From Whelp to Woof! curriculum has already begun.
During these first weeks, the puppies are taking part in Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). These gentle, age-appropriate exercises expose them to tiny, carefully controlled experiences during an important stage of neurological development.
ENS introduces each puppy to a series of brief tactile and positional exercises, while ESI introduces a different safe scent each day. At this stage, it’s not about “training” at all. It’s simply about providing small, positive experiences as their brains and senses begin developing — the very first building blocks in our much bigger program of raising confident, curious and adaptable little family dogs.
Over the coming weeks their world will gradually get bigger as their eyes and ears open and we introduce new textures, sounds, environments, enrichment, handling and eventually their early training experiences.
For now, though, their most important job is simply to eat, sleep, grow and snuggle with Mum — and Serenity is making very sure they have everything they need.
Bowie, Freddie, Stevie, Billy, Prince and Princess Donut are due to head off to their new families from 28 September, so we have lots of wonderful milestones ahead before then.
